Many people experience hair loss as they age men and women alike. As we get older, our bodies don’t produce the keratin that it did when we were younger, thus leading to our hair falling out completely or just getting thinner.
Rather than doing the comb over and trying to hide the hair loss, or spending money on some of those sprays that “fill in” where you have thinning hair, just try some natural prevention methods. It will look better and you’ll feel much better doing them than those other alternatives.
Try giving yourself a head massage for about 5 minutes every day. This gets the blood flow going and that will help “feed” your hair follicles which will help your hair to grow naturally and it’ll be healthier hair that comes in.
Next time you go shopping for shampoo, try something different than your normal brand. Find a shampoo that contains sandalwood. It’s been shown to increase hair growth within about 6 days by stimulating the hair follicles on your head. Don’t just change up your shampoo; you should also look for conditioner that contains topical caffeine. It can help stop hair loss, leaving you with a great head of hair to be proud of.
In case you didn’t know it, your diet can also have an effect on your hair. If you eat healthy fats, like fish, eggs and other proteins, studies show that your hair will be stronger and thicker. Protein is important to having healthy hair and a bonus is that it’s good for you already, so you get a two for the price of one. Sweet!
Keep in mind also that hair loss can occur because of other underlying issues you might have with your health. Visit your doctor and have him/her do a complete physical so you’ll know if the hair loss is simply age related or if there is something more serious going on. If there is something else medically happening with your body, your doctor can treat that and the hair loss should stop as well.
If you are experiencing hair loss, don’t continue to color or perm your hair. Both of those are extremely hard on your hair to begin with they cause your hair to become dry and brittle. If your hair is thinning you don’t want it to also be unhealthy. Don’t do any more damage to your hair than it’s already undergone up to this point. Embrace your gray, or your curls, or your straight hair.
If your stress level is high this might actually be contributing to your hair loss. Find ways to decrease your stress level try talking to someone, learn ways to relax, and avoid stressful situations all together if at all possible. Don’t create more stress for yourself by stressing over losing your hair. If you can stop some of the stress, you might be able to slow down the process of your hair loss.
